Our Company

Serenity Wellness Center (SWC) is a non-profit mental health organization incorporated on March 4, 2019. It operates as a social enterprise in response to emerging mental health challenges in Zambia, such as alcohol and substance use disorders and other mental health issues. The prevalence of mental health disorders and challenges in coping with life at all levels has been exacerbated by poverty and the post-Covid-19 pandemic effects. Therefore, our multifaceted prevention, treatment, and recovery interventions are designed to meet mental health needs at individual, family, community, school, and workplace levels. We continue to partner with both state and non-state actors to actualize our vision of a society enjoying quality mental health and wellness.
By affiliation, SWC is a member of the Psychology Association of Zambia (PAZ), the Counseling Council of Zambia, and the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP). We focus on providing mental health services in outpatient and residential treatment settings. Some psychological interventions we use include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Common Elements Trans-diagnostic Approaches (CETA).
Strategically, SWC was incorporated to contribute towards attaining Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly pillars 3.4 and 3.5, namely:

Reduce by one third premature mortality from non-communicable diseases through prevention and treatment and promote mental health and well-being.

Strengthen the prevention and treatment of substance abuse, including narcotic drug abuse and harmful use of alcohol.
